Tarmac – Broom

Duo Processing

A totally self-contained plant with the flexibility to be altered as market trends change

Project Requirements

To deliver a low level, low ground pressure footprint, high capacity, high efficiency processing plant capable of producing two premium grade sands and three quality aggregates at 350tph.

Duo's Solution

By acquiring information on the Tarmac site’s feed material, end-user, and market demands, Duo was able to develop a client specific solution involving the supply of plant to process double the capacity achieved by the previous fixed solution. The end result – a highly innovative and compact design that excels in terms of sand production and offers ultimate flexibility: making two sands at varying cuts – 0-4mm concrete sand and a 0-2mm fine sand.

Project success

A totally self-contained plant with the flexibility to be altered as market trends change. This plant is the ideal solution for sites previously considered as ‘not economically viable’ due to the cost of penalties.

Miles Dobson, Head of Manufacturing, Lafarge Tarmac, commented: “The plant supplied by Duo has given us a great deal of flexibility in the market. We started with a smaller plant – also supplied by Duo Group Holdings and TWS. However, after further considering the market and its relevant changes, we opted for a larger option – the modular designed AggreSand ™, which offers more flexibility and can better serve our market and its altering demands. It’s modular design is fantastic and allows us to be flexible and fast in the market – by adding a larger sand plant for example. Moreover we have built a strong relationship with Duo Group Holdings and TWS. Their installation performance is swift, runs efficiently and produces exactly what is anticipated, generating excitment about further installations underway at other Lafarge Tarmac sites.”
