Increased Productivity of Recycled Aggregates for Neil Williams Haulage
2nd January 2007

Established in 1967 as a family run business, the NWH Group is based in the Lothian area of Scotland providing a wide range of services including tipper and heavy haulage and muckshifting.

Recent diversification within the business into several other areas has included the process and supply of recycled aggregates. Previously having purchased a Powerscreen wash plant and a Technoidea plate press ( 68 plates) from DUO Equipment of Coventry the company currently processes 8,000 tonnes/week of washed recycled aggregates through the existing plant.

Faced with the growth and expansion of the local market for quality recycled materials it has been a natural choice for NWH to return to DUO for their advice, which has resulted in the purchase of a second Technoidea plate press of identical size. This scheduled addition to the existing plant will now provide NWH with the ability to increase production, and work with material containing higher silt and clay content.

This second press which will be ‘bolted-on' to the existing plant will provide an efficient interface with the existing Powerscreen and Technoidea equipment and will satisfy the primary objective to provide quality recycled aggregates to their increasing local construction materials market.

Mark Williams - Director, commented, "It was a natural choice for us to return to DUO, with their expertise and knowledge, they have provided us with the tools to take the project a step further. This will not only increase our production but also mean we can deal with difficult materials more effectively and provide a quality end product"
