Event Review: RWM 2011

This year’s Recycling and Waste Management exhibition, which was again held at Birmingham’s NEC, was an excellent indication that the industry is recovering from the downturn it has faced in recent years. This year’s show was bigger and better than ever attracting a great number of visitors from all over the world, each of the three days the visitors turned up in their thousands to experience a show that boasted over 650 exhibitors and 90 speakers.

DUO Manufacturing’s stand proved popular with a high footfall across the three days. Dudley Lloyd, Director - DUO Manufacturing commented “We enjoyed hosting a busy stand and having the opportunity to meet up with a number of existing customers as well as making new contacts, introducing them to DUO, our capabilities and showing them some of our past projects.

As well as an indoor stand DUO Manufacturing also had an outdoor presence, as they have done in previous years, which also attracted a lot of interest. Dudley added “We have once again sold the equipment that was on display at our outdoor space during the event. This is obviously great for us as a business but also for the show as a whole as it is indicative of the caliber of the show’s visitors - people that are decision makers and have a genuine interest in exhibitors.

The show was not only beneficial for the traditional waste management applications but also the burgeoning application of recycling aggregates which enjoys increased interest year-on-year. DUO’s aggregate processing division supported DUO Manufacturing at the show and were able to speak with both UK based and international visitors about potential projects. John Bracken - DUO Sales Manager, attended all three days of the event and commented “Having attended previous RWM exhibitions I was looking forward to the event as we’ve always made good contacts in the past and this year was no different.
