With the guidance of Duo Group’s Chief Design Officer, and to a programme agreed with the DML Managing Director, efficiently and effectively direct the activities of DML’s Frome Design Office resources in producing Sales Office Drawings and detailed Design Drawings of DML’s products to support the commercial propositions presented to Duo Group’s customers.  Support the Operations Department with the timely release of design packages for procurement and manufacture to support the Project plan.  The post will require coordination with equivalent post at DML Roltech Stoke Design Office.

Post will require:

  • Ability to interpret and direct the design and draughting of cost competitive customer project designs to support the commercial propositions for Duo Group’s customers
  • Ability to update and develop the project design cost database used by both the Frome Design Office
  • High level of proficiency with 2D / 3D CAD – Autodesk Inventor and Advanced Steel and the ability to align outputs from these with the wider needs of DML
  • Exceptional internal and external communication skills
  • Ability to mentor and develop the skills resources of the Frome Design Offices to fully support the needs of DML and its customers.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

    • Under the direction of MD, DML, for each site, compile a consistently formatted Project plan that will show and demonstrate:
      • Accurate interpretation of customer requirements in drawn form
      • Correctly costed estimates of design proposals
      • A detailed Project plan for the delivery of agreed contracted works won by DML Frome
      • Delivery of design packages for procurement and manufacture to the agreed programme
      • Successful performance of actual against estimated project outcomes
      • Contribution to Operational capabilities and cost down programmes
      • Issue progress reports as directed that show overall performance against project programmes and highlights/resolves constraints.
