Main function of the job:

  • Reading drawings and with or without a jig.
  • Coordinate Crushers, Screens, Filter Presses, Silos and Conveyor installations
  • Coordinate Belt fitting, Belt Scrapers, Screen Mats – fitting
  • Coordinate New and Retro Installations
  • Production financial forecast, setting and controlling Installation costs which generate reports for KPI reporting
  • Produce weekly communications to all stakeholders
  • Monthly Reporting on progress
  • Populate notifications of change or impact with detailed information
  • Deliver installations from design to customer training, commissioning and hand over
  • Deal with customer complaints in the expected manner of a manager
  • Review resource vs budget and progress
  • Identify work packages, scopes clearly described and communicated so all understand the goals to be achieved
  • Chair milestone meetings during Installation
  • Build and maintain good customer relationships
  • Control and build firm relationships with suppliers
  • Develop Installation programmes and keep them up to date always
  • Coordinate Site investigation regards failures (STAR, Mech)
  • Help develop installation improvement with lesson learnt log, information sharing with detail and solutions to Duo Group or suppliers
  • Waste Management reduction on installations
  • Warranty claims information gathering and submit in the expected periods
  • Assist on proposal bids
  • Assist estimating and design
  • 75% onsite
  • Running numerous installations dependant on size and risk
  • Populating STAR/SHE mgt folders for site
  • Running and coordinating CDM 2015
  • TWS/Power screen system Installations
  • Bespoke equipment, large installations
  • Management of commercial contracts and the management system required
  • Carryout TBT’s
  • Producing SSoW/RA
  • Confirming Installation paperwork and plans
  • Running Installation ranging from £ – up to £10million+
  • Running training for customers staff on CI regards brought plant/systems
  • Health and Safety Legislation to ISO and good Housekeeping in all areas
  • Nationwide coverage – Installations

 (Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required).

Your responsibilities:

  • Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements as required
  • Inspecting, checking over and completing mobile/Installation equipment, powered equipment – daily checks before use.
  • To liaise with the Engineering Manager on progress and site conditions.
  • Resolve on-site issues occurring during installations
  • Shipment inspections on receipting of Installation equipment
  • Confirm all site operational tasks are being completed under the correct Health & Safety paperwork and in a safe manner
  • Reading and following technical drawings
  • Read and understand structure assembling drawings
  • Measuring correct lengths and distances
  • Assisting the Installation Site Supervisor to de-mark structure footprints ready for installation
  • Keeping the site tidy and free from hazardous objects, materials
  • Being environmentally aware
  • Customer coordination and communication daily, weekly and monthly
  • Keep suppliers up to date always
  • Manage commercial contracts
  • Installation progress updates and maintain their systems
  • Overall safety on site to STAR policy
  • Control spend, costs,
  • Warranty claims
  • Find solutions

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Engineering qualification (Mech, Construction, Material)
  • Project Management PRINCE2 full
  • NEBOSH
  • IOSH
  • City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ qualification, or similar.
  • CSCS Card/NVQ
  • Quarry Passport

Experience:

  • Engineer experience
  • Experience of servicing mining & construction equipment
  • Read mechanical and layout drawings.
  • Excellent Health & Safety knowledge and Standards
  • The ability to demonstrate a pragmatic and ‘common sense’ approach to problem solving
  • Fully flexible regarding working hours and days working, including weekends, out of hours.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience of working within ‘time critical’ production environments.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Steel fixing
  • Water treatment systems and pipe threading
  • Worked on construction or quarry sites before
  • Crushing and screening
  • Commercial Contracts – Contract Manager experience
