Summary of Role:

  • To assist the Finance Director
  • Responsible for working with company management to help them make upper level management decisions
  • Help management use financial information to inform business strategy
  • Relay information from accounting department to management team

Responsibilities

  • Business partnering with relevant managers within the company in order to provide financial support and information
  • Liaising with and reporting to the Finance Director
  • Overseeing preparation of the monthly management accounts pack, inclusive of the monthly P&L, balance sheet & EBITDA Summary
  • Managing and developing other accountancy staff
  • Preparing monthly payroll for salaried staff
  • Periodically checking weekly payroll submissions for accuracy
  • Updating the annual forecast monthly including the preparation of the commentary
  • Preparing the annual budget
  • Improving controls and procedures
  • Full month end procedures as well closing month end
  • Record financial transactions for project, department, or company
  • Prepare financial statements for internal and external use
  • Reconcile spending with budget as part of job costing
  • Analyse financial performance and forecast longer term horizons
  • Recommend methods and strategies for cutting cost
  • Maintain records and support auditing efforts
  • Advise company and/or department management on financial decisions
  • Make upper-level strategy recommendations based on financials
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Month end journals
  • Accruals & prepayments
  • Reconciliation of finance facility
  • Oversight of bank reconciliation
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Progressing credit card return & post to P&L
  • VAT calculations & submission
  • Production of management accounts for up to 3 companies
  • Adhoc duties and reporting
