Field Service Engineer

Location: South West Region

As a result of further expansion and continued success, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly self-motivated Field Service Engineer to complement our established and successful team. We are looking for a team-player, who will be able to assist in the set-up of this new department, whilst working to the highest standards in problem solving, fault-finding, service and repair functions on construction plant and mineral processing equipment.

We are a newly formed national partner for sales and service support of Doosan construction equipment. Main function of the job:

  • Servicing, repair and maintenance of construction plant and mineral processing equipment, crushers, screeners, and wash plants
  • PDI of new machinery before delivered to customers
  • Scheduling and planning your own work
  • Ensuring all equipment is kept to its best working condition and up-to-date with all legislative requirements

The role will involve:

  • Working with our internal and external customers on their fleets of construction plant equipment
  • Assisting to set up the structure for a new dedicated equipment division
  • Ensuring the high levels of service provided by our company are maintained
  • Planning the necessary maintenance schedules for all our plant equipment in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations
  • Assisting our Spare Parts division with technical enquiries
  • Liaising with the OEM’s service and parts teams ensuring the maximum uptime of our own and our customer’s fleet is maintained
  • Taking all opportunities to further extend your knowledge and development to assist you in this role
  • Travelling to various sites throughout the UK and Ireland

The right candidate will have:

  • Experience working as a workshop fitter, mobile plant fitter, mobile engineer, plant fitter, plant engineer, workshop technician, plant technician, vehicle mechanic, vehicle technician, mobile crushing and screening equipment etc.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of mechanics, electrics and hydraulics
  • You will have previous experience working as a mobile plant engineer, plant fitter, plant technician or plant mechanic.
  • You will previously have worked on plant machinery such as excavators, wheeled loaders, articulated dump trucks and mobile crushing and screening equipment
  • You will hold an NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in plant maintenance or mechanical engineering or time served apprenticeship
  • Flexible and professional approach to all clients/customers

Qualifications

  • Relevant Engineering qualification
  • NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in plant maintenance or mechanical engineering
  • Vehicle Mechanics

Experience

  • Previous Field Service Engineer experience essential
  • Experience of servicing construction equipment as well as wash plants, crushing and screening equipment essential
  • The candidate will have all the relevant qualifications and a minimum of 5 years’ experience within the mechanical engineering industry with good knowledge in hydraulics, electrics and engines
